encouragement

“The harvest is great, but the workers are few...

Luke 10:2

New Living Translation (NLT)

These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.

--------------------------------------------------------------

When Jesus sent out the seventy He had specific instructions for them, one of which was So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” The word “Lord” in the Greek is “kurios” and means “supreme in authority (a noun) as a respectful title, God, Lord, master or Sir ” So with this in mind we see a significant truth revealed, It says that God is in charge of the harvest field and that we are to pray to Him to send more labourers to assist us in the field. In Acts 2: 47 it says “And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.” Those who are being saved are the ones who are to help out in the harvest field.

We are the labourers that do the work. The only way we will get more labourers to assist is by doing the following:

  1. We have to Pray and ask for more labourers to assist us.

Ø  Pray at all times  - Prayer is an important part of any Christians life in brings US into fellowship with the Father – Ephesians 6:18

Ø  Imitate Christ  - The disciples always prayed. They imitated Jesus – 1 Corinthians 11:1 “And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ”, Paul urged the people in Corinth to imitate him as he imitated Christ.

Ø  Imitate God  - We also read that in scripture that we are too imitate God – Jesus Did. Ephesians 5:1 “Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.

  1. We have to also Go Matthew 10:7-8 and then Preach The Gospel. This is a two part statement.

Ø  We have to Go and not Go and Sit in the Church Building but Go into the Lord’s Harvest Fields – That means Me and You!

Ø  Then We (Me and You) Preach the Gospel that will lead men to repentance - Luke 24:47.

Knowing your enemy is vital and will give you the Victory over him Always. We are in a war and he never plays fair. Our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

These are the tactics that they use against us: Study these and replace them daily with the word of God!

Deception: Age old tactic – First used in the Garden of Eden.
Doubt: Makes you question God's word and his goodness towards You!
Discouragement: Makes you look at your problems rather than God!
Diversion: Makes the wrong things seem attractive so you want them more than the right things!
Defeat: Makes you feel like a failure so you don't even try!
Delay: Makes you put off something so it never gets started or completed!

Imitating Our Father Daily will bring us Success against the tactics of the enemy Daily! So let’s:

2 Timothy 2:15

Amplified Bible (AMP)

15 Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.
